The focus of Today’s feast is the total self-giving of Jesus.  The bishops’ stewardship pastoral reminds us that “the glory and the boast of Christian stewards lie in mirroring, however poorly, the stewardship of Jesus Christ, who gave and still gives all He has and is, in order to be faithful to God’s will and carry through to completion His redemptive stewardship of human beings and their world.”

RELIGIOUS ED REVIEW

http://archimedes.galilei.com/stlcofcc/blogimages/vbs.gif

Vacation Bible School was held at PBOC June 8-11.  Our theme this year was “Walking with the Saints”.  We learned about the lives of St. Paul, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Bernadette, St. Francis and of course, St. Patrick.  The week got started with Awesome Inflatable Rides--the water slide was just the place to beat the heat!  The week included games, skits, crafts, music and prayer.  The children made beautiful banners for the church for the Feast of St. Paul on June 29.  A highlight of the week was the arrival of “Brigit’s Irish Ice” Ice cream truck in the parking lot of the PLC.  All of the children were treated to delicious “Irish” ice.  Fr. Pat celebrated Mass on the last night for the youth and their families, followed by a cookout.  All of the children took home embroidered tote bags containing St. Christopher medals, Blessed Mother bracelets and bookmarks to remember the week.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers who made this week possible:  Renee Preedom, Angie Triana, Kelly Triana, Lorena Robles, Erica Robles, Eric Robles, Lili Kaminski, Katlyn Gould, Nikki Legg, Karyn Congdon, Kim Teeples, Russ Bodie, Cam Sweeney, Caroline Barnett, Jessica Roman, Ashley Roman, Joey Kaz, Michael Mayeaux, Mary Jane Barnett, Grace Barnett, Jamie Barnett, Sarah Ellerbe, Annie Arneman, Rachel Thornton, Chloe Grabbeman, Theresa Sullivan, John Sullivan, Ryan Millane, Mary Catherine Loftus, Courtney Surbeck, Margie Casella, Olivia Battaglino, Chrissy Botticelli, Katherine Gleaton, Travis Pierce, Dana Arneman, Laureen & Walter Kies, Patricia Martin, Barbara Pontiere, Jack & Lynne Quinn

A special thank you to Fr. Pat for his enthusiastic and generous support of VBS at PBOC!

THE KNIGHTS SUNDAY NEWS

READ ALL ABOUT IT !!!!!

Do you know what the four corners of our K of C emblem stand for? They represent the Principals of the Order. They are as follows: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism.

This week we will look at what Unity means to the K of C.

Unity is to assure that a Knight becomes fully united with his brothers in the basic understanding of his Catholic faith. Organized Columbians, united behind the individual Knight, provide the power of an intelligent, alert body of Catholic men - a strength which the individual by himself cannot achieve.

(To be continued next week.)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
