KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
![]()
The fourth of the four
winners of this year’s Knights of Columbus Catholic Youth Action Award is Lorena
Robles.
Few students have made
the impact on Precious Blood Parish that Lorena Robles has made. She sings and plays guitar with our youth
choir and is learning to become a cantor.
She has worked in Fr. Pat’s Kitchen, the Parish Picnic, Simple Supper,
most other Parish functions and the Stations of the Cross. She has participated in XLT (deanery-based
prayer and worship) and DYC (Diocesan Youth Conference).
Lorena is a true
witness to her peers through her love of the Catholic Church and, more
specifically, her love for Our Lady. To
quote Kate Russell’s letter of nomination… “Unlike most teens I have or ever
will meet, Lorena has a maturity of faith that is refreshing yet
bewildering. This young woman draws
strength from her faith and loves the church in ways that most adults will
never know or experience… She has a peaceful calming spirit to her, a
conscience far beyond most 18 year olds, and is not in the least materialistic
– so refreshing in today’s world.”
