Your donation of $25 for each intention can be placed in the flower envelope located to the right of the calendar. Please drop your envelope in the collection basket or turn in at the office.

MINISTRY OF CARE
Let
us know of your loved one confined to home, in the hospital or recovering from
surgery and now home. (Hospitals will
not give out patient information, so we have no way of knowing your needs.) Our ministry is to unite the sick and
recovering followers of Christ with the Body of Christ, they are
not ALONE. Please call the parish office

Respect life
The Rosary for the Unborn will be prayed this Sunday (and every first Sunday of
the month) in the chapel after the 10:30 AM Mass.
The annual "Stand-up for Life" rally will be held in
Columbia on Saturday, January 16, 2010. The march forms at 11:00 AM at the
Russell House on Green Street, and the rally is at the capitol steps at 12 Noon.
A bus will leave Wal-Mart parking lot on Rte. 544 and 17-bypass at 6:30 AM. For
reservations call Susan Mevissen at 488-0428. A free-will offering of $15 is
requested. Young children ride free.
The Pro-Life Prayer Vigil sponsored by Grand Strand Citizens for Life
will be held on Friday, January 22, at 7:30 PM at "The Father's
House" (formerly was "The Purple Church") and is located on
17-bypass near Farrow Parkway. The prayer vigil marks the 37th anniversary
of the Roe vs. Wade decision that led to the legalization of abortion in all 50
states.
OUTREACH
Just a reminder…the second Sunday of
each month is our food drive for the Baskervill Ecumenical Food Pantry. Precious Blood is responsible for spaghetti
and spaghetti sauce. There is a
basket in the gathering space where you can leave your donations at any time. This is a way we can come together as a
community to help those in need. Thank
you for your generosity.
Fr. Pat’s Lunch
Kitchen continues to serve on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with people coming
together to enjoy sharing meals and friendship. We served 80 people for our special Christmas
lunch. This past week the kitchen was
closed for a holiday break.
Saturday breakfast is
served every Saturday morning, 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Last weekend we served 35 people Pancakes, Bacon,
Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, Fruit Cocktail, Cereal, and OJ/Coffee/Milk. Special
thanks to all the ministries who helped serve breakfasts for the month of December.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

Parish
Breakfast! Mark
your calendars. The Knights of Columbus will be holding a Parish
Breakfast on January 17th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the PLC. There will
be eggs, omelets, French toast, pancakes, grits, home fries, juice and coffee
and more. All this for just $6.00/person. Not only will you have
the opportunity to eat great food at a great price but, you will have an
opportunity to catch up on your fellow parishioners’ Christmas and New Year's stories and
adventures.

DIOCESAN
SPEAKER-
Deacon Ed Peitler, Director of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of
Charleston, will be at our church on the weekend of January 23rd and
24th to speak of the mission work in which our diocese is involved
in the town of San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala. Deacon Ed, who will just be returning from our
diocese's 6th medical mission there, will talk about the lives of
the poor in that region and how so many other Catholics in our diocese have
become involved in assisting the children through an initiative called Project
San Pedro. It will be an opportunity for our parishioners to discern a call to
support this missionary work.
VOCATIONS - The Diocese of
Charleston and the Oratory are sponsoring a discernment retreat January 28-1, 2010
at the Oratory in Rock Hill. The retreat
will allow participants to discern a possible vocation to the priesthood,
diaconate or religious life. Men and
women ages 18-55 are eligible. For more

WORLD
MARRIAGE DAY
– The Diocese of Charleston will sponsor its Tenth Annual Marriage Anniversary
Celebration on Sunday, February 14, 2010.
The parish of St Philip Neri in Fort Mill, SC will host this year’s Holy
Mass at 3:00 PM followed by a reception.
All married parishioners are encouraged to join us for this festive and
uplifting occasion. The married couples will affirm their love and commitment
to each other with other couples in the Diocese of Charleston with Bishop
Robert Guglielmone and Fr. Mitch Pacwa from EWTN. Please see the flyer at the back of church
