Low Country in style like our church— designed with the needs
of our active parish in mind— the result of many hours of planning by the
Building Committee, our architect, site planners and other specialists: this is
our Parish Life Center.
The Parish Life Center has three components—an office complex, a meeting
room wing, and a multi-purpose Fellowship Hall. The different sections are
separated by courtyards to allow windows on both sides of the one-story office
and meeting room wings, and then they are joined together by two entrance
lobbies. The exterior appearance of the Center is like that of our church.
The meeting room wing is located at the front of the Parish Life Center where it
can be expanded, if needed, in the future. This wing includes rooms for our
religious education program and conference rooms for our active parish
committees and activities. Rooms for 18, 20 and 25 people are included in
this 6,000-square-foot section
The office complex houses facilities for our pastor, the parish staff and
facilities to enable the efficient functioning of our administrative staff.
Finally, Fellowship Hall, with a 20-foot ceiling, accommodates the most
enjoyable parish dinner-dance and the most spirited basketball game. Complete
with a full kitchen and storage areas, the Hall accommodates 450 for a
banquet-style dinner. Yet, our youth are able to enjoy virtually any indoor
sports activity when the Hall functions as a gymnasium. Two entrances are provided, on either side of the office complex (when facing
the facility from the parking lot). The front lobby serves the office and
meeting room facilities and can also be used for events in the Hall. The second
lobby is principally for the Hall, although access to the office building is
provided. The additional parking included in the project accommodates the
anticipated additional need that this facility creates.
The architecture of the facility follows that of the church, lowcountry. The
office, meeting room and kitchen area of the Fellowship Hall are all single
story with dual pitched roofing, softening the visual impact of the twenty-foot
high ceiling Fellowship Hall behind it. The bricks, shingles and siding to be
used on the facility are the same as on the church.
