ADVENT at PBOC
Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season, which begins Sunday, December 1, is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas.
An Advent Penance Service will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 6pm, with Fr. Paul, Fr. Pat, and priests from the Deanery available to hear confessions.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops website, usccb.org, has many Advent resources to help you and your family fully enter the season with daily activity and prayer suggestions to prepare you spiritually for the birth of Jesus Christ.
Dynamic Catholic is offering a FREE email program for Advent that will only take a few minutes each day to help you prepare for Christmas with short inspirational videos, Gospel reflections, practical tips and real-life stories of hope! Experience Advent like never before! Sign up for these daily emails at dynamiccatholic.com/advent. Rediscover the joy in preparing for Christmas!
PBOC will offer “The Word Among Us” and the Magnificat Advent Companion to all families the first weekend of Advent at all Masses. ... See MoreSee Less
