Disaster Relief letter to parishioners
Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS, requests that all priests read the following from the pulpit, especially during Sunday Masses this weekend:
“My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
You are aware of the catastrophic damage and tragic loss of life in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Many of our neighbors in our own diocese are still without power. As there are many people in need at this time, I ask that you consider giving to the diocesan Disaster Relief fund. ( which can be found on pbocchurch.com in our donation tab )
All donations to this initiative will be used directly to support South Carolina families who have lost homes or our parishes that have been damaged. The effects of this hurricane will be felt for a long time, and your generosity will make a significant impact in helping our communities recover.
Thank you for what you have done already for our brothers and sisters. Let us continue to pray for all victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. St. Medard, patron of bad storms, pray for us.
Jesus, calmer of storms, save us!”
